YOUNG
MOVIE MAKER Instructor:
TBC
CAMP A - 8 Days in July (8-12
Participants)
CAMP B - 8 Days in August (8-12 Participants)
Location: 339 Wilbrod Street (Sandy Hill)
Cost: $499.00
+ 5 % GST
This exciting
summer camp for young actors is a unique introduction to the overall
process of creating a video from start to finish. Participants will
rehearse and block a script written for them by a professional
screenwriter. They will work as a team to design the set,
costumes and sound. The script is then videotaped with the
participants as the actors. Not only will they participants perform
in the video, they will learn about many of the other roles on set.
Once everything has been shot, the young actors will sit-in on the
editing session to see how an editor/director edits their scenes.
By following
this process our young actors will:
-
Act in a
mini-movie written with them in mind
-
Learn how to find
a story in a scene
-
Discover what a
director is looking for during taping
-
Work in an actual
production setting
-
Learn how to
ensure continuity in a scene
-
See how scenes are
cut and manipulated
-
Find out how an
actor can end up on the proverbial, "cutting room floor"
Are you building a
video resume? This course will leave you with a good clip for
your demo reel. Every participant will receive a DVD copy of the
finished project with an actual movie cover with the actors names and
a movie photo on the case. Class size is limited. There will be
a screening held upon completion of the course for all participants,
their families and friends. (Date TBD)

Each

TESTIMONIAL
from a previous YOUNG MOVIE MAKER
COURSE:
“Young Movie Makers” camp for children held
by A.C.T Ottawa was a phenomenal experience. This one week camp
was not only enjoyable but extremely educational. I can’t
express enough how much fun it was for the children to develop
characters and their skills to put on a short movie scene. Every
night, my daughter would explain enthusiastically on the
experience she had that day. The 2 day filming of their short
film was done in the most professional setting. Filming included
cameras, lighting, sound, hair, and makeup. Adult professionals
from the filming industry assisted in the preparation of the
children and the sets for the filming. Professional directors
and adult actors helped the children with their characters for
their scenes. Play time became real working acting time with
serious professionals at the helm and serious adult actors
filming alongside the children. Watching, “with extreme silence”
out of camera view, you get a real sense of what is involved in
filming. Filming and acting at this camp was taken seriously, as
a real film needed to be produced in the end. The people
responsible for your children over the period of the week ensure
that they are entertained as well as improve their skills. I
would highly recommend that any parent considering having their
child explore the movie/television business participate in one
of these camps. My daughter is eleven years old, and I believe
this experience to be one of the most memorable highlights of
her childhood."
