Intensive Scene Study with Claudia Jurt Mondays - April 21-June 9 (5:00-10:00pm) Tuesdays - April 22-June 10 (5:00-10:00pm) 8-12 Participants/class Please make sure to include your availability for either Mon or Tues - depending on the # of applicants, we may adjust the scheduling.                          APPLICATION DEADLINE: ASAP                                                   Cost: $375.00 + 5% GST = $393.75                         Early Bird Discount: $350.00 (must pay by April 7) + 5% GST = $367.50                                          ACTRA/CAEA: $350.00 + 6% GST = $367.50                                                                           AUDITING COSTS:                                                    $20.00/class (+ 5% GST) = $21.00                                                                       OR                                         $145.00 (+ 5% GST) = $152.25 for the whole session          This class, as with Claudia's all other classes is taught 'free-form'.  Students must be prepared to come to              class expecting the unexpected.  To act truthfully it is imperative to be self-aware, that means without ego.            Self-awareness is key for an actor to express himself truthfully in the work.  Because of this, I have created a          series of exercises/experiments to help actors on this journey to self-discovery and dismantling of the ego.             All participants must bring a blank journal and writing materials to each class as there will be writing and                 acting - from the page to the stage!  The objective always: to be present.          Each actor must also have a suitable monologue that he knows extremely well.  When we get to the scenes,          the aim of this intensive scene study will be to bring the truth to the scene, and to ensure each actor's          unique and personal vision of the character. Participants will be paired up and given specific scenes to          learn prior to the start of class.  A strong commitment to the work is mandatory for this class.  All          participants will need a prepared monologue should their scene partner be absent for any of the classes.          We will begin each class with one or more exercises, including writing, relaxation, animal and sensory          exercises, and/or other exercises depending on the stage of the work. Then we will work on scenes.  This          class is an opportunity for actors to grow in a safe environment.  In addition to in-class work, participants are          expected to run lines with their scene partners and do any additional writing and/or reading assignments that          are handed out in class.                 NEW SCENE STUDY STUDENTS - To be considered for this class as a participant or auditor,                 please email your photo/resume to Info@ACTottawa.com and answer the following questions:                             1. This course gives actors          an opportunity to explore their craft, to better prepare for auditions and actual work on the set.          Participating actors are encouraged to bring sides for upcoming auditions to class. Applicants may be asked to audition. A full refund will be given to those who do not pass the audition phase. Getting Started in Film & Television Instructor: Claudia Jurt Sunday, April 20, 2008 (10:00am-6:00pm) Cost: $99.00 (Additional family members pay only $50.00) (+5% GST) Location: Arts Court, 2 Daly Ave. 'CAO Boardroom' (Main Floor)       Knowing how to get into the 'movie biz' can seem like a difficult task for       those who are just starting out.  The aim of this intensive workshop is to provide       participants with an overview of information, tools and skills that are necessary       for actors and parents of young actors to open that first door to the industry.       This workshop will place emphasis on: Ø Knowing how to become a marketable actor with a dynamic portfolio (resumes,       head shots, demo reels, etc.) Ø Finding the right talent agent without getting caught in a scam Ø Using the most effective self-promotional & networking tools Ø Learning the industry lingo commonly used on set and with other industry       professionals   Ø Understanding the audition & casting process, the function of the actors union      (ACTRA), the importance of screen training, industry do's and don'ts & much      more...   This workshop is suitable for actors or parents of young actors that are just starting out in the business or for anyone with a general interest in the entertainment field.
