exciting course is to give the young actor a better understanding of
how the industry works and to be better prepared & more confident
when going to auditions. Imagination and creativity are
stressed, and the young actors are given many opportunities to become
experienced working in front of a camera. Special focus will be given to:
Working in front
of the camera with naturalness and confidence
Developing the
young actor's focus and ability to take direction
Learning about the
film & television casting process
Preparing for the
audition process and learning about the value of self-promotion
Discovering what
Casting Directors and Talent Agents 'look for'
Meeting industry professionals
Actors will work
on scenes and put their work into practice with special guest
directors. Industry professionals including casting directors,
directors and local talent agents are invited to attend each course
to watch our participants in action.

Actors will work
on improving their scene preparation, cold reading and improvisation
techniques for auditions. Actors will work on tackling a
script, analyzing it and bringing their own unique qualities to each
read. Actors will work on improving their cold reading and
improvisation techniques. A variety of sides, covering
different styles and characters are assigned over the course of eight
weeks. Each actor's work is recorded on tape, giving the actors
the opportunity to learn from each other and to objectively examine
their own work. Participating actors are encouraged to bring
sides for upcoming auditions to class.
Applicants may be
asked to audition. A full refund will be given to those who do
not pass the audition phase.

The aim of this
