Sory synopsis: The Lima Prologue is a very short film about an aging novelist meeting with a rookie literary agent. They discuss the progress of the old man's novel and the details of the young man's recent honeymoon. An incredible and moving coincidence emerges as the film concludes.

Roles wanted to fill: 1.
OWEN OLER (male, anglophone, age 50-60)
Oler is a novelist struggling to finish one final book. He lives alone, preferring gardening to writing. Oler is a more subdued, less prolific version of a Norman Mailer or Mordecai Richler. His substantial feelings of regret and insecurity are lightly masked by cocky nonchalance. This veneer disappears at the climax of the film.

2.
LEONARD MULLEN (male, anglophone, age 25-30)
Mullen is a rookie literary agent assigned to represent Owen Oler. He is manifestly reserved and professional. Despite this, he finds himself giving details of his private life to Oler at their first meeting, which reveals a troubling coincidence.

Other comments: DISCLOSURE

This small project is in its infancy.  I am a novice filmmaker looking to gain some experience in the field, including casting.  At this stage I'm looking to find a pair of actors who would like to attach their names to the project.

Filming would take place in late fall '07, or early spring '08, depending on how quickly I can raise money for the production.  I understand these conditions are not optimal; my hope is that I can find two actors who find the script appealing enough to sign on at this early stage.

I have secured the commitment of a local cinematographer with experience shooting 16mm film.

Sadly, I can't afford to pay more than a small honorarium for the shoot.  $50/actor.

See this website: http://limaprologue.tumblr.com for other details, including two brief script excerpts.
