Story synopsis: "The Lost Letters of a Victorian Lady" is not
what you expect. This wacky romp takes its proper but naïve
title character on a mad adventure through England, Holland, and
Ireland where she is pursued and aided by a large cast of
characters-all played by only two other people.
In "Pizzazz" an American overcomes her boredom by playing
psychological role-playing games with an unwilling Irish
proctologist. But none of it what it seems.
Roles wanted to fill: Edith Lampton, author of the lost letters,
is a young woman who does not let her brother's mortal wounds,
accusations of opium smuggling, or a chase through the Dutch
countryside affect her proper Victorian manners.
Mr. Kelly, unknown to Edith, is her real father and an Irish
rebel. This performer also doubles as Edith's brother, her maid,
and the mysterious Dutchman Kloop. (either gender, any age)
Maverick is the American cowboy who is sworn to protect Edith
during her adventures. This performer also doubles as Edith's
groundskeeper and her mother. (either gender, any age)
Rooney, in "Pizzaz" mans the office. Theoretically young, but
actually could be any age. Onstage for the whole play, always
involved in the action, he always has an attitude or an opinion
even when not speaking. Rooney has funny lines and bits--he's
not the sharpest knife in the drawer. Rooney radiates lack of
enthusiasm and unhelpfulness, until he's drafted into the games.
Other comments: Auditions are cold reads.
Resumes and Headshots nice but not necessary.
