Story synopsis: This film attempts to tackle the heart-wrenching
issue of childhood cancer, and its affects. Steve, the dad,
tries hard....too hard to provide for his family. He does well,
but the family life suffers as a result. Little Jimmy starts out
at 6 yrs old and little Angela is 4. It is Jimmy that ends up
developing cancer. and eventually succumbs to it at the age of
12. A visit from the children's wish foundation reveals what
the child had been asking his dad for for years....a remote
controlled train. With a little research someone at the
foundation knows of a couple of people the have gigantic model
trains that take up whole rooms, with intricate details of the
surrounding landscapes. The first visit leads to another, then
another, then another. Soon, the dying kids wish is known
throughout the underground 'train-masters'; community. The
ending will not be discussed here....TY.
Roles wanted to fill: First and Foremost we wish to express that
this film has NO BUDGET. It will strictly be a volunteer
project. There is money for equipment and food and that's all.
Jimmy - This is by far the most important role. We are looking
to audition males for a Jimmy at 6 yrs old, at 8 yrs old and at
12yrs old. We are hoping to cast a 12yr old Jimmy with some
decent acting experience and then cast the younger ones with a
similar look to the first. Most likely we will cast 1 person as
both the 6 and 8 yr old Jimmy.
Angela - The same. Will likely cast 1 person as both the 4 and
6 yr old Angela. We need a 10yr old Angela. These are both
speaking roles. We also need another Angela at 17. This will not
be a speaking role
Heather - Mom and wife to Steve. Caucasian. An attractive and
smart lady that kind of resents never having made use of her
education and talents. Before the child's sickness she already
shows signs of a drinking problem. It gets worse when the child
falls ill. Will have to age from 30ish to mid-late 30's
Ned - Office good guy. Slight comic relief. Positive attitude.
The guy everyone likes. 25+. Any Ethnicity.
Secretary Mary - 20's. Very professional, almost as if she has
something to prove to the older, more experienced secretaries.
Any Ethnicity.
Dr. Harris - sympathetic figure. Preferably male, 40-50+
Grandma - sweet in appearance 60+. Caucasian. non-speaking role
Wishmaster - Someone to represent the Charity. Preferably
someone 40+, gender - any ethnicity. We would like someone who
is sympathetic without being sappy.
Nurse Amber - Female, any age, preferably 25+. Any Ethnicity.
We also need about 10 people for a boardroom meeting scene.
Corporate looking, gender not important. Preferably 30-35+
**NOTE** All 'trainmasters' with their corresponding trains
have already been cast.

We are also looking for people who wish to volunteer their time
behind the scenes as well. If you are technically knowledgeable,
know anything about lighting, costumes, or can be a production
assistant, you are welcome. All involved get screen credits
