CANNIBISM CASTING CALL
STORY SYNOPSIS:
A tale of two desperate pot heads. Matt and Marty
are two young "adults" (age 18-25) who can't seem to buy any
marijuana from anybody. Destined to spend a boring afternoon in
Matt's mothers basement they find themselves desperate for a
buzz. Matt suggests an unreliable source: a homeless
"witchdoctor" who is rumored to have an endless supply of the
world’s most potent weed.
The weed comes at a price much higher than the
going rate. A common side effect known as the "munchies"
turns the two harmless potheads into vicious animals with
the appetite for human flesh. There is no end in sight for their
hunger as they groove on the evil ganja.
CHARACTERS:
Marty:
Male
Age 18-25
No job, no school, no worries. Marty has somehow
graduated high school but has no ambitions other than smoking
and chilling in his mother’s basement. He is always in the know
when it comes to weed which is why he knows about the
witchdoctor. Between the two friends he is the voice of reason
and is reluctant to buy the special weed.
Matt:
Male
Age 18-25
Matt is Marty's long time companion (heterosexual
relationship). Matt is the one who is absolutely hooked on weed
and will stop at nothing to get a joint. When Marty suggests
getting the questionable bud from the witchdoctor he is quick to
purchase the weed with no consequence. His personal flaw is what
turns the two friends into ruthless monsters.
Witchdoctor
Male
Age 26-40
No one knows who he is, no one cares. The
witchdoctor is a sarcastic sorcerer of black magic. This strange
hobo exists with no ambition to be a rich drug dealer or to
better his life in any way. He is just exists to spread his evil
drug and collect empty beer bottles.
Marty's Mom
Female
Age 30-45
Marty's "roommate" and landlord. She is the
mother of a lazy son but loves him none the less. She only has
one line of dialogue and she dies at the end. (Spoiler alert)
Pizza Delivery Guy
Male
Age 26-40
He delivers pizza.
IMPORTANT INFO:
This is an independent short film that will be
part of a web-site that is currently under construction. The
web-site will showcase other short films written by the very
people producing this film. This short will be no longer than
10mins. We are looking at 3 days of shooting. This is a non-paid
& non-union production. There is going to be some special
effects so actors interested in this production must be
comfortable getting a little messy.
