Characters
(Principal)   John Zeck Gender: Male Age: 45-55
John Zeck is an executive at a large company. He manages teams of people and ultimately has it pretty good. He’s upper-middle management, which means he’s comfortable asking other people to do things, but he’s not a technical person so he doesn’t always completely understand the ramifications of his requests. What he does understand is that he needs to perform and get results to continue his success. John's tone: Direct, Honest, Friendly American (no obvious 'Canadian' accents) Clean-cut Businessman Wardrobe: Suit, Shirt (not white) & Tie

SIDES:

We will focus primarily on the “request”. The “translation” is provided for subtext.

Talent should be prepared to read both Request and Translation for both scenarios

1.

Request:

Hi, we need an online form placed on our site next week for this acquisition campaign. I’m not sure about how it’s exactly supposed to work, but we can just figure that out as we go along.

Translation:

Hi, I am the reason that 50% of technology projects fail. We’ve been planning this for months, but it has to launch next week. I also won’t understand when it’s not delivered exactly as I imagined it in my head.

2.

Request:

I’ve just gotten approval to push my new corporate communications platform to the top of the development schedule. This will be a cutting edge, revolutionary project that is going to take this company to the next level. Let’s regroup this afternoon to discuss the details.

Translation:

My teenage daughter thought a FaceBook app would be cool, and now so does the CMO. Since we have no way of matching resources to strategy, I got this thing approved by sheer force of desperation and the awesome sound of my voice. Thanks so much.
